Got Drupal installed but don’t know where to go from here?

We’ll hit the high points of getting started with Drupal core and/or the Acquia distribution:

  • naming the site
  • uploading logo and favicon
  • roles, permissions, and adding some users
  • sorting out the difference between blocks and pages and blogs, as well as adding new content types
  • using clean URLs
  • fun with taxonomy
  • and if there’s time, CCK, dates and image handling

We won’t be talking about hosting, or which distribution is right for you, or contributed modules — this is designed for people who have inherited a Drupal site, or want to get started but are intimidated by the huge range of choices (or lack of time).

If this interests you, you might also like From Core to Complete: creating a unique home page, which promises to push the boundaries of Drupal.
