Create a Website Quickly as a Drupal Newbie
Got Drupal installed but don’t know where to go from here?
We’ll hit the high points of getting started with Drupal core and/or the Acquia distribution:
- naming the site
- uploading logo and favicon
- roles, permissions, and adding some users
- sorting out the difference between blocks and pages and blogs, as well as adding new content types
- using clean URLs
- fun with taxonomy
- and if there’s time, CCK, dates and image handling
We won’t be talking about hosting, or which distribution is right for you, or contributed modules — this is designed for people who have inherited a Drupal site, or want to get started but are intimidated by the huge range of choices (or lack of time).
